Can't remove a sound file from my desktop

recorded a short sound file last night to try out my new mic. and saved it to desktop. peoblem is it now won't delte nor can i find any reference to it in c: if i right click and properties nothing happens.

kinda like the computer thinks it's not there, tried ccleaner,secure delete,defrag,reg clean.

nothing works i also can't move it anywhere else so basically annoyingly stuck on my desktop

have you tried in safemode or off a live disc?

I know it may sound strange but reboot your PC and then try and delete it.

I have had this before and I tried everything but it would not go so in the end I just switched off the PC. When I switched the Pc back on I tried again and it went first time

after trying the above i made another sound file named it the same as the stubborn one and overwrote it. It then let me delete it. Very weird how these problems occur int he first place.

Any possibility i could be associated with my HDD

Have you tried a System Restore?

Had a video file like that the other day.

Had to run cmd.exe (as admin) then killed explorer.exe (which was using it apparently) and then use the dos command 'del filename.avi' to delete it.
