i formated my pc a few weeks ago and i have tried to install games on it today. with the EA games i have tried to install i get a window come up saying you must have direct x installed?

I have installed direct x numerous times from microsoft and also from some of the game discs.
I have also ran dxdiag and that is fine?

Could it just be a dodgy windows install? i dont see how though?

running MCE05

4400x2
2gb ocz plat
7900gt
asus a8n sli prem

Could i extract the MCE theme from MCE and then use it on xp pro? i dont use media centre anyway i just like the theme? "Energy Blue" i dont really want to use windowsblinds or anything like that though.

Justin

Edit: Also running 84.21 nvidia drivers, will try the latest 9x.xx but have never had problems before.

What about your motherboard drivers? Did you also install those before the latest video card drivers?

Yeh i have my order of installing things, after removing windows messenger, i install cpu/hotfix, motherboard then graphics etc

Have formated again now, havent tried installing any yet just got blank os with drivers.

Right, I still have this problem with direct x after a clean install of xp. Just felt like installing a game, NFSMW and get the same thing. Please Help

I have tested 3d mark 06 and that runs fine.

This is a problem with Need For Speed and not Windows.
Use Google and you'll find some answers !
