Can't see second drive

I'm probably missing something obvious.... I installed my two new hard drives in my new build and installed XP onthe C: drive (Seagate 250gb)

My 500gb Samsung IS visible and is "functioning correctly" in device manager, but in My Computer there is no sign of it (like an E: drive etc)

if it hasn't got a file system it can't be seen in my computer

Fair enough, make sure a don doesn't catch you saying 100 posts they might knock you down a couple

if its winxp go into control panel/performance & maintenance/admin toolsputer management storage click on disk management.

spot the drive you have, right click and you might have to initialise it first then right click and format, set it as ntfs and leave it to finish.

at least thats what i did to get mine working the other day and its fine now

You can also use a partition manager. I highly recommend Partition Magic, it helped me copy a partition to my new drive and resized my existing partitons with no data loss.
