Plusnet, who when i signed up flaunted a no cap usage system, have once again restricted my internet activity. This has finally peeved me off enough to want to go elsewhere.

I have been looking around and Demon seems to be quite the ISP. Is anyone else with them? What do you think?

They State that there is no Usage Cap on their service. How long is this likely to last?

Cheers

And your point is valid to my thread how? I want to move over to a more flexable ISP and am fed up of paying for something that i no longer recieve.

Anyhoo back to my origional point. Is anybody on here with Demon? how do you rate them?

Cheers

The link I provided gives an indication that Plusnet have gone to the dogs...

You sound like a hardcore leecher.

Demon are crap for gaming (in my experience).

No **** ;). 700GB of customer emails "misplaced"?! that's pretty specialised :). IDNet are capped at 30gb but are probably the best out there. gAyOL is the only truley unlimited provider out there (afaik).

As far as I know, Demon aren't that great. Saying that I haven't looked at new ISPs for ages.

There are very few "totally" unlimited packages. All ISPs will have a limited use policy so they can draw a line eventually. If you are considering anyone cheap and download lots (which by the sounds of things you do) then I would look elsewhere.

Nildram. 50GB on peak, unlimited off peak. And best of all, this fair use policy hasn't changed in about 2 years.

ok i may download a lot of stuff (around 20-30gb's a month) but to have my connection crippled because of it is just unfair. im not after a cheap alternative, i will gladly pay more for more monthly usage allowance. This is why i signed up for the premier package at plusnet as at the time they flaunted no usage caps. now i am disgruntled at the fact they have capped the amount of bandwidth i can have. is there a more expensive ISP that will taylor for my needs? or am i going to just have to suffer?

Nildram sounds pretty good, i wouldnt go anywhere near that amount of usage. i get about 5-15gb on peak a month. Plus net limit you after 10gb and cripple you after 15gb!

I know how you feel i left plus net a while ago (as soon as they changed their TC with out telling me) i moved to eclipse, much better service for me, maybe worth a look there?

20-30GB/month isn't that much. As you've said, you'd fit within Nildram's peak time limit.

As for Plusnet "complaining" about ADSLguide, that wasn't unexpected, though they do have a point (slightly).

I think i will call them monday on my day off. it appears to be cheaper and far more flexable. Thanks for the advice guys. really wish i lived in an NTL cabled street :(

Might be worth looking at Zen, Eclipse, Enta (system of resellers, the UKFSN is one) as well, especially if you play WoW (at last count, Nildram were having issues with lag).

I'm with Demon, hassle free really, very little restrictions, although they've now employed a FUP, but it look extremely hard to break it.

Indian 1st level support call centers with the usual scripts they have to follow, but generally get the job done.

HomeOffice8000 is 25 quid a month for static IP and unlimited usage with FUP. If you're willing to spend more, the business packages are fantastic and well-supported.
