Can't use my t mobile phone abroad - help please

Ah ok. It's just i'm in talks with the exec office now. They offered to pay my bill, but i'd rather they just put the maximum (speed) internet booster on the account instead.

They say they have problem with 3 to 4 masts within a 5 mile radius of my area. NR2 4SF

.... if you fancy delving into how they put up masts.

I know how TMobile go about putting up masts in my area (at home get non 2G signal and a variable 3G signal) ... what they do is find a good site in the middle of the area with bad coverage, then all the local tin-foil brigade stand their children in front of this location and get local free newspaper to photograph them for a "don't let them fry our kids brains" front page feature, then TMobile decide that they don't need this sort of hassle and forget about the whole idea.

When you roam onto the three network share ;) . AFAIK their deployment max is 7.2 but the internet seems to suggest they have 10/14.4 sites (I have no idea how true this is). Wikipedia says they have HSPA+ which is >14.4 - this sounds hard to believe considering how much flak they get and the ROI on higher speed sites sucks - people just don't need the speed currently.

Slinky might be able to see this more than me because he can see their intranet where the details will be :) He may also have a picocell in his shop.

There are a few HSPA+ masts on the network, @mobilemandan on twitter posted a picture of him using one, but we're talking a ridiculously low amount and mainly in london around paddington (ironically near Orange's head office) and these indeed are the ones shared with 3.

I'll have a dig tomorrow with the postcode in this thread tomorrow and I'll see what I can find, although it may not be much more than customer service already told you.

I got HSPA+ at Gatwick the other day, and most of the ride home to Essex. Didn't affect speeds though - still capped to 1.8mbps

Hi Slinky, did have any luck checking NR2 4SF at all?

Thanks. At least they were telling the truth then. I seem limited to 0.9Mbps, i presume once the masts are back up, I'll be back in full working order, I'll be back up to 1.8Mbps. That's all i want.
