No matter how amazing and epic games are recently (mirrors edge, bioshock and a million more) i seem to be suffering with Cantcompleteagameitus

This has been going on for some time now and its starting to bug me. I find myself picking up games left right and centre (across all formats PC,XBOX,Ds,PsP even old school emulators and roms) and not being able to complete a thing. Not only does this annoy me but i cant for the life of me figure out what it is that makes me stop playing these games?

Whats worse is that my Cantcompleteagameitus is starting to turn into CantcompleteaTVshow/Filmitus. A prime example of this would be heroes and the Sarah Connor chronicles. Both ace shows but i just cant bring myself to keep up to date or complete watching either series?

anyone else suffer with this?

I'd Like to use "not having enough time" as a good excuse for my problem but its all lies.

Maybe my inner brain is telling me that if you complete any of the above epicness there will be nothing to replace it with and you will feel empty inside.

Halp

Halp?

:/

I'm sometimes the same, after a getting through a really fustrating level I get annoyed and tired and often have to leave it for a week.

Also sounds like you're being a bit lazy as well.:p

I find i dont complete certain games because the the game designers create boring flat points which usually end in grind...
Maybe your spending to much time at once playing game's, maybe take a breather and do something else. Then come back to it.
could also be playing games that dont suit you i.e fpsing when you like rpg??

The last game I completed was Batman on the Amiga.

I remember when I bought Deux Ex I really wanted to complete it, heard great things about it yadda yadda. I went through the training bit and when it came to the actual game I opened fire on that ED-209 thing, got creamed, and have never played it since.

I've played FF12 for 17 hours in the last three days. I need another job.

P.S. It looks damn good running at 1080p and is so much nicer to play with the 360 controller ;)

Im playing all the games that have usually ocupied me over the years. (fps, platform games, and old school rpg's ((earthbound etc))

Maybe i am being a little lazy.

I do keep things different and im certainly not stuck in a routine rut. hmmm

I know the feeling, used to complete games all the time as a child, infact I probably completed every game I had. The problem I think is choice, when I was younger I didn't have much money to get games so I had less of them and picked them better. These days there is so much choice out there and so many places to get it.

The thread is about games...

No its not its more of a confession. True the subject matter includes games as an example and discussion point but it is not game specific. Its more about the lack of being able to complete things in general

So next time keep the sarcasm to yourself as i feel this is most certainly the right section of the forum to post this in.

I'd agree with that, although I do find I am a lot more picky about games I pick up now, although I have a large collection of PS3/X360 games I am finding it hard to dedicate quality time to each one, RE5 has consumed all my time and I will not take it out the 360 until I have completed it to almost 100%, as it's the one game I really want to do as my first 1,000 game (I have done it with all previous RE games) and I don't want this to be any different. :D

Still got, MGS4, LBP ,Killzone 2, Fallout 3, Forza 2, Orange Box, Lego Indiana Jones, Tiger Woods 09, GTA4 + L&D, Guitar Hero WT, GH3, CoD: WaW to play through, and just no time what-so-ever.
