Will be something for consoles later on

In the past Capcom has done a good job at brining conversions of popular console titles to the PC, but the company has never really worked on titles with a PC first philosophy.

Our sources now, however, are telling us that Capcom is working on a new yet to be named title that will be designed from the ground up for the PC, with a possible console conversion later if it is successful on the PC.

While Capcom is calling the new projects of this type a PC-lead project, and while the details surrounding it are a mystery at the moment, it will be interesting to see what a company that is widely known for console titles can do when they put all of their effort into a title that offers more new options on the PC that might not be available on a console.

We suspect that if the title is successful, you are going to see it on the PC, but the sheer fact that the PC will be getting it first does say something about where the company thinks PC gaming is headed in the short term.

*Hugs Capcom*

Let it be good, let it be good, let it be good :D

Hopefully properly optimised stunningly good graphics (though CC are already good at that) and controls properly configured for KB/M without all that floaty feeling you get from most console ports.

i dont know what capcom is smoking... are they trying to lower their profits or sth? pc games dont bring big profits unless its blizzard, valve or the sims.

Time to show those DBags at EA what PC gaming is all about =]

So you didn't enjoy Battlefield, Dead Space, Mirrors Edge, Mass Effect and Crysis then? Sorry to jump down your throat but i feel EA are one of the few publishers and/or developers left who put a decent amount of effort into the PC.

True their DRM is a joke, but the games themselves are still sound and, more importantly, are largely well ported. Some are even PC exclusives!

Capcom has shown reliable profits from both Devil May Cry 4 and Street Fighter IV. I think the fact that they are one of the few developers left producing pretty, well ported and most importantly well optimised titles for the PC is a big deal. For example you can get Street Fighter running on some of the most basic laptops around, that's a big selling point and has resulted in many friends i know having a copy installed and a fightpad for their random, casual gaming moments.

You've just named every big name PC exclusive (or at least high-priority PC) dev. It's just most games these days on the PC are dodgy console ports, so tend to be avoided. If the devs put the effort in (and CC have definitely put it in on their recent ports, SFIV, DMC4 etc.) the PC people will buy it and CC will make a profit.

If it then gets ported to the console which it almost certainly will, they'll make an even bigger profit as both PC people and console people will buy it.

that sounds cool, they have been generally good at their ports and in my experience as a PC gamer have found only one bad port from them which was Resident Evil 4 which was sodding awkward to control lol, i recently bought Street Fighter 4 and thought that was brilliant never had a problem with it.

i'm interested in what they have to produce on the pc!

Capcom didn't port that one I don't think, I'm sure I remember they got a third party to do it, got stung by it, then vowed they would port all their own games from then on.

Spot on, iirc they created the patch that added all the fancy lighting etc themselves several months later.

Capcom are becoming a PC Fanboys pin-up as of late.

Some STONKING PC titles which have been made with much care, love and devotion.

Roll on Dead Rising 2 and may this "Lead" PC Project be sucessfull for them.

Absolutely great news if they do create a PC first title. I've become a bit of a Capcom fan since Lost Planet and DMC4, and even bought SFIV on the weekend deal, even though fighters aren't normally my thing (I just can't remember all the moves/combos).

Given how smart their conversions look, I can't wait to see what sort of visuals they'll be able to pull off when aiming straight at a PC developed release.

I totally agree, I think that EA has come into the gaming with a business attitude, I think that before that gaming industry in this country was considered a cottage industry, and I know that EA have made a few wrong turns, but have helped bring gaming a proper business ethos... maybe a shock to the gaming industry

Loving Capcom right now!! Your alright by me buddy :D

Now if Sega put in the same effort then PC gaming would seriously take off

Capcom rocks, Lost Planet, DMC4, SF4 and RE5 are all BEST on the PC.
RE4 and Onimusha sucked, because it was made by 3rd party company SourceNext, full of complete idiots.

I am looking forward to supporting good PC games from capcom : ).

Excited to hear this, as long as they don't have the trademark Capcom "annoy you till you break stuff frustrating bosses" :)

(I slammed my table in anger at Dead Rising, shocked my 360 and fried my disk heh)
