CAPITAL ONE CUP FINAL Bradford City v Swansea City *** Spoilers ***

If Laudrup handles Europe well and continues doing well, I could maybe see him taking over from Sir Alex in a few years or so.

Feel bad for Dyer, De Guzman should have let him take it, not everyday u get the chance to get a cup final hat-trick.

It's not every day you get the chance to score in a cup final at all, Dyer already had 2, if Guzman already had a goal I have no doubt he'd have given it to Dyer, but its more harsh that Guzman doesn't get on the score sheet so Dyer gets his hat-trick.

Either way excellent performance all around really, bit of a shame Bradford couldn't conjure up a bit more but, ultimately Arsenal were rubbish against them, Swansea were near perfect. Bit of a shame there wasn't a bit more of a fight for a final as it was game over so early on, but Swansea put together some great moves and some nice goals.

Harsh to send the keeper off, it wasn't like he came out recklessly and destroyed the player, it was light contact and accidental.

It was a situation where the captain should have stepped up and took command of the situation with a bit of common sense.

The penalty was far from crucial at 3-0 up against a team 3 divisions lower, who have been chasing shadows all game and now only have 10 men, so having your nominated (for being the best) penalty taker take it wasn't required. Dyer seemed to handle it quite professionally in the end but it could ultimately cause a bit of friction in the dressing room and upset team harmony.

Because Stoke play like Leeds. It's woeful.

All of Pulis' teams have played like that - they've established themselves as a decent Premier League team and concede less goals in the first 30 minutes than any other team in the division. Laudrup and Rodgers are both a great deal more attractive to continental European footballing players than Pulis. Although it ain't pretty, it's taken them from lowly Championship team into established Premier League team. Realistically are they going to finish higher than 12th on a regular basis? If not, then why change the formula?

Back on the bus now :)

We parked in Wembley primary school (lol) and ended up taking a wrong turn and having to lap the ground to get back.

About the drink throwing scum.. I joined the queue to get a couple of programmes and innocently got told by a guy that the queue started behind him. I put my hands up and said "ok sorry mate", then stood a few places behind him. Then a woman behind me (that saw him telling me to go back) starts mouthing to the guy and accused him of queue jumping so they argue.

I then turn around and say "look, he's not with me and he was telling me about queue jumping", but this goes unnoticed as they bicker. At this point the guy is mouthing to the woman's husband and they start pushing and a pint went over my jacket and leg.

I turn to the guy and say "mate.. You'll be swinging from that arch now, watch what you're doing", and signalled to the steward (that just laughed when I said what he'd done. I .e tipped his drink on me).

An older couple made eye contact with me and we both just laugh at the fools arguing.

Anyway.. Get day, shame about 5-0. I had £35 on 4-0 at 20-1 :(:)

Couldn't disagree more with some in this thread regarding the penalty.

I thought it was incredibly lame and petulant by Dyer to start an argument about it in a cup final and he has brought nothing but shame and embarrassment on himself and perhaps by association on his club.

He acted like a spoilt child and if I was manager I'd have subbed him there and then, do not pass Go and do not collect £200.

If you are not the designated penalty taker then you have no right whatsoever to demand a penalty and I found the whole incident incredibly unprofessional not to mention unsavoury. I was sat there waiting for Ashley Williams to come running up (since there was a delay to sub the keeper on) and sort it out, but it seemed to fall to the likes of Michu to be peacemaker.

I can understand him perhaps asking to take it but it is a privilege not a right, acting all Billy Bigshot and throwing his toys out of the pram means he has fallen through the floor in my estimation. It went on far too long and left a sour taste in the mouth, evoking memories of Drogba in the last game of the season a year or two back when he was chasing the golden boot.

edit: The thing is as well is that it was De Guzman who was denied the goalscoring opportunity in the first place, brought down when faced with basically an open goal. Had it been Dyer who was robbed by the foul I could maybe have a smigeon of sympathy for his position, but in this situation it is nothing short of a disgrace.

Well said.

Totally agree.

Bradford just didnt turn up at all. The whole occasion got to them. That said, Swansea were awesome and anyone whould have struggled.

That's insulting to Leeds.

Stoke play terrible football, utterly soul destroying. They're also overly physical, they should have had two players sent off and facing lengthy bans just this weekend.

/back on topic.

I thought Swansea were magnificent, Bradford looked overwhelmed and were never really 'in' the game. I'm so pleased for Laudrup, I adored him as a player and I think he's had a fantastic start to life at Swansea :).

Also, totally understand why Dyer wanted to take the pen, but it's the usual pen taker. I'm not sure why Guzman got abuse for it.

Congratulations to Swansea. :)

What can one say. Swansea played the way one expected them to and Bradford did not show up. The gulf in class was too visible and you could sense it was all over after the first goal and it was after the second.

The fans on both sides have to be commended for the atmosphere but I thought the Bradford deserved a special mention for their singing and flag waving during the last twenty minutes of the game. It was great to see such wonderful support!

Pics and video coming up a little latter.

More coming later. :)

I got back just after you posted this. Hope the head isn't too bad this morning? :D

Had a massive headache on the way home haha

You must have been in the club wembley seats above us! I was going to post a picture or two but then I saw yours :D

I'd echo your comments regarding the Bradford fans. They were waving flags non-stop for the final 20 mins, it was great to see.
