Capital One Cup - Quarter-Final 17/18 December *** Spoilers ***

and you're judging that on a capital one cup performance? :p

Sunderland need this more than Chelsea. They went out there to win. Chelsea went out there for a warm up for the epl on the weekend.

a competition is still exactly that, not to mention 1/4 finals.

Will to win should be enough for these highly payed stars (and yes I will say the same if /when Utd lose tonight)

Really good to see Sunderland win, even if they have got a 2% chance of getting further (and thats being generous).

Am I right in thinking semi's are now two-legged affairs? If so that percentage reduces lol

Stoke City: Sorensen, Cameron, Shawcross, Wilson, Pieters, Walters, Palacios, Ireland, Whelan, Assaidi, Crouch

Subs: Begovic, Muniesa, Pennant, Jones, Arnautovic, Adam, Wilkinson

Manchester United: De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Evans, Evra, Valencia, Cleverley, Jones, Anderson, Young, Welbeck

Subs: Johnstone, Chicharito, Nani, Fletcher, Büttner, Zaha, Kagawa

edit - the liklihood of Utd scoring before making subs is remote I would say lol

That's a pretty poor United XI.

Meanwhile, Spurs are starting with two strikers  The AVB days truly are over.

Tottenham XI: Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Capoue, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Townsend; Adebayor, Defoe

Place bets now on how many of this Utd team will be sold in Jan (or at least try and be sold in Jan)....incl the subs

At least 3 (Anderson, Young and Buttner.....with possibly Evra, Nani and Kagawa also possibly "made available") depending on who is brought in.

(Im only including Evra and Buttner, depending on whether the club want to make a bit of a fee back on Evra or lose him for zilch in the summer)

ROONEY INJURED - Stoke v Man Utd (1945 GMT)
Big news from the mouth of David Moyes: "Wayne Rooney is injured."

When asked if he will be fit for the festive season, he answered: "We hope so."

No Rooney and no Van Persie?

Such a shame ;):D:D:D

Team to face West Ham in tonight's Capital One Cup Quarter-Final:

Lloris; Walker, Chiriches, Capoue, Rose; Lennon, Dembele, Sigurdsson, Townsend; Adebayor, Defoe.

Subs: Friedel, Fredericks, Fryers, Chadli, Eriksen, Holtby, Soldado

442- recipe for disaster long term. It doesnt make use of our best assets and it gets demolished by good teams with a 5 man midfield.

It feels like a return to the dark days under Harry
