Capital One Cup - Quarter-Final 17/18 December *** Spoilers ***

This is the worst half of football I've ever seen from a United side.

Pretty much very half this year bar 2 or 3.

Watching man Utd field the likes of:

Jones
Smalling
Evans
Valencia
Young
Welbeck
Cleverley

Top side... I don't think so, it's embarrassing when you look at the amount of talent in every other top 10 sides starting 11 and we have them.

Did sir Alex try to leave us with the worst side possible?

442 is not the answer.

AVB had the right formation but ballsed it up. It wouldn't have required much to sort it out either (the irony being that AVB refused to gamble on any of the below):
- no high line with slow defenders
- fullbacks have to run past the wide attackers to pull the defence apart a bit
- one of the two defensive midfielders needs to attack much more
- players to be in their natural positions
- less weird restrictions of players

442 was found out a long time ago; players are basically too far apart from each other and hounded off the ball. You cant play through the middle easily either.

well i haven't yawned once so it's an improvement in my eyes

because it is like watching a pinball machine. the randomness is bewitching and we are still not creating clear cut chances. we are just putting the ball in the box for the big man

if adebayor is going to be asked to play on the half way line, you may as well polay 451 with a proper attacking midfielder...

that's why 4-4-2 works

lovely finish

442 works because of a counter attack?

this is why harry was in a job so long... our play in possession is awful and we rely on counter attack goals.

edit dm- why cant one striker cross for any attacking player?

he totally pidgeond me

Fantastic goal from Ade, great cross from Defoe..... a front two combine to score a much needed goal.

THAT is why I'm glad AVB was shown the door.

A "plan B" what a refreshing change!!

I'm surprised how quickly people are welcoming Adebayor back after his stunt at the weekend. I'd never want him wearing the shirt again.
