Capital One Cup - Third Round ** Spoilers ** [22/23 September 2015]

Just saw the Flamini volley, pretty impressive strike! Difficult to do coming down from such a height.

Can honestly see Rogers and McClaren under risk. McClaren has won 3 of his last 21 matches as a manager, 10 have been losses.

Brother (charlton fan) said there was a lot of trouble tonight at Palace. Charlton fans throwing glass bottles into crowds with young kids in. Tosspots!

Only managed to watch first half in the end, so how bad were we in 2nd half? The fact we went to penalties screams failure for me, also I can only assume mac is doing more interview lately is maybe Rodgers ran out of same crap to say

Fourth round draw

Manchester City v Crystal Palace

Liverpool v Bournemouth

Manchester United v Middlesbrough

Everton v Norwich

Southampton v Aston Villa

Sheffield Wednesday v Arsenal

Hull v Leicester

Stoke v Chelsea

Ties to be played week commencing October 26.

lol, depending on the source Liverpool took 47+ shots over the game against league two opposition and scored 1 goal.

Chelsea took 12 and scored 4 against league one opposition. Spurs and Arsenal had 13 shots and score 1 and 2 respectively. Utd had 12 shots and scored 3 against championship opposition. Palace had 16 shots and scored 4 again against a championship side.

47 shots, 1 goal. Coutinho was a substitute and had 7 shots of which only 1 was on target. He was on the field for 64 minutes less than Ings, the only other player to take 7 shots, he got two on target and scored one of those. Coutinho also then went and missed a penalty to cap off another fine performance.

Liverpool are in trouble if they play that badly against a team that has only won 2 out of 6 games in league two and Coutinho, I still can't believe anyone can't see how poorly he does given the freedom to shoot as much/more than the strikers in the team.

Was at the Newcastle game last night, and well Newcastle were utter ****. Wednesday put out a second XI of which most haven't even played a game of football all season. And we never threatened them at all. Their keeper made zero saves, whereas Krul was kept busy all night, and they hit the bar twice! Shocking

The players are a joke, I can't understand what's happened.

Sissoko wants to play champions league - LOL
Wijnaldum was dutch player of the year last season - Utter **** now
Janmaat was part of the excellent dutch world cup team
De Jong won numerous titles and cups with Ajax as captain, and looks terrible
Thauvin came with so much prospect after his debut, but has done nothing since

Either the coaches are terrible, or the team cohesion/morale is atrocious. Some major changes are needed.

Watch us beat Chelsea on Saturday though! haha

That wouldn't be a surprise at all, you 'always' do up there.

Newcastle players tend to only show up for the bigger televised games. The deluded "ego" players seem to think they'll get a move to a bigger club.

Anyone watching the past 3 games wouldn't rate any of our players as worth it.

I am getting more and more confused with how The Ox and Ramsey play every bloody game for us. They have been no better than awful in every game so far this season. It did make me laugh after The Ox eventually managed to take the ball round someone only to blast the pass straight out for a throw in. He has fell over the ball / his own feet so many times recently. Debuchy looked garbage which is odd as he looked ok before he got injured. Arteta needs to retire. Thought Chambers defensively looked better than usual apart from the own goal. Awesome goal from Flamini but a little odd that our most defensive minded midfielder was so far forward so often. I am not confident about this season at all :(.

The biggest issue with the Ox is, he hasn't improved at all since he joined Arsenal, not in the slightest. Ramsey had one good season where his shots happened to end up in the goal rather than not, that was it. His all around game in his good season wasn't very good, he's really poor defensively.

He runs around playing like a better player, he tries flicks, if one comes off out of 5-10 a game he'll keep doing it as if the one confirms he's the next Messi. he shoots from outside the box without threatening in the slightest.

Wenger said something the other day about how Ox will improve if he only believes it, his development depends on his belief... and I'm thinking this is why players don't progress at Arsenal because rather than tell the player what he's doing wrong Wenger has very strange ideas about how he should improve.

It's also worth remembering that Flamini is not bad pushing forwards, he's just never allowed to. I wouldn't call him our most defensive minded midfielder just one of our most disciplined players. When asked to play left back he plays left back, when asked to play DM he does. Last night he pretty much played as a more normal central mid with Arteta without the legs to get forward the defensive mid. Given the role to push forward he did so pretty well.

Wilshere is the same, when we played him as a pretty much out and out defensive mid in his first year he had the discipline to stay back and didn't look much of a threat. The few times we play him more as a no.10 or further forward and give him the scope to attack then he does that excellently also.

Waiting to see when Coquelin is back, Wenger gave the impression they have no idea how serious it was beyond missing the game last night, hopefully he's back soon. If he's out longer term and we end up playing Arteta loads we're screwed.

I know he's young but Bellirin will be fantastic in the future, just keep giving him minutes and exposure. He's extremely fast, gets forward and can ping in a decent cross, doesn't mind having a go, pretty decent tackling, just only right now is gets caught out of position a little (like Chambers) but probably due to inexperience.
Since Debuchy injury, I think he's solidified himself as the RB position.

I think Arsenal just need to switch it up a bit. We've played that 4-2-3-1 for a long time now. I'd like to see an old style 4-4-2 that Wenger used to play come back. Giroud and Walcott up front, Sanchez and Ozil as wingers and Ramsey/Coq/Cazorla in the middle depending on the game.
