So im just running a bad dlink with no options to do so and my sister has just discoverd rapidshare she does turn downloads off when i ask her but id rather just do it at a click of a button or 2. any one know of anything that i can limit my sisters laptops connection remotley ?

Anything that can run tomato tbh, preferably Vics RAF mod and use the mac limiter. It's more effective than the regular qos at controlling bandwidth e.g. you put the macs in and set the minimum per device (usually enough to watch youtube etc.) then leave it. Any unused bandwidth is shared equally.
Anyway, whatever you do you're stuck with dlinks firmware on that. The most popular tomato router in the wrt54gl, although the buffalo wht-g125 has a faster cpu and costs less but you trade wireless range for it.
