Seriously, it'll give it a much neater look. After my first build I had something that looked like that and after a few months I re did all the cables

First I need to sort out the power button, HDD and fan error

What's wrong with HDD?

Fan error, just turn te fan monitoring off in the BIOS or plug a fan into the fan header on the mobo next to the CPU.

What's wrong with the power button?

I've set the fan to ignore but that didn't work

The HDD is detected in BIOS and in Device Manager, however it won't show up in My Computer so I can't save anything to it

Power button just refuses to work... Reset and HDD buttons are fine.

Re wire the power button on ur mobo.

Try formatting the HDD

I tried to do this, too many cables! I'll have a proper look tomorrow..

And I shall reformat the HDD which I have no idea how to do. Google to the rescue!

it works, nice rig aswell, been preping my old nzxt case to do an i5 build fora friend
im not sure weather i can be bothered to log it, but ill build tomorrow

Going back home in a few hours so I can sort out the issues and hopefully cable manage a little better if I can. (Also download Steam and BF3 if I have time!)

The only trouble is all my cables are routed in between each other and when I move one about 5 others fall out!

Lol I will need the luck, but I think I have the cabling ok now. I don't plan on doing much else in the future, the back looks messy but it's covered and can't be seen

There is enough airflow for me too.

And yeah my fan controller doesn't work which I guess is because I haven't plugged it in

Don't know about the temp thing though, mine seems to be running fine (temps of 18-22C)

Nice build, the CPU cooler seems the wrong way, which way is the rear fan blowing and the CPU cooler fan.

Yes it is unfortunately, I just wasn't thinking about it's orientation when I was fitting it because it was so tricky and annoying to mount, so when it finally went on I just thought "Finally - im never touching that again!"

I don't think it will make too much difference though hopefully because of the intake fan on the side and exhaust right above it anyway?

Cable management is a fine art! Took me well over an hour to sort mine out and that was with a modular PSU as you have to plan where each cable will run and where you'll hide it lol. Does make a difference on system temps though in smaller cases.

Yeah it is an art that I will not master with the mess of cables coming out that PSU!

However when I next upgrade a major part I will get a more powerful and modular PSU and cable manage properly! At the moment in the Z9+ ive sort of pushed and tied the cables so there is some decent airflow infront of them

Yo mate, I have to ask, as you went for the same mobo ;
Have you had any issues installing the drivers? I can't get the newest BIOS for starters...

No I just got all my drivers on a USB and installed them straight on no problems mate...

Don't think I got the new BIOS though, I didn't really need it.

Only thing I was thinking is the CPU fan might be fighting against the rear extract fan, is possible to turn the CPU cooler fan around so it pulls air accross the cooler and straight out the rear extract fan

I know what's you mean regards fitting the CPU coolers, I lost count of cut fingers fitting certain coolers!

Yeah, I think there is a curved side where the fan goes, I tried turning it once but it was too fiddly at the time!

I will take a look tomorrow though when I get back to it and see if I can do anything!

Pleased with the performance im getting even with the buggered up CPU fan!

Playing games the GPU max's out at 60C and the CPU just a few degrees lower

Well been fiddling around and im rather happy overall now!

GPU maxes out all games I throw at it, which is awesome, and doesn't go above 57/8C with the fan very quiet!

The CPU maxes at about 58-60C but never above that which is fine

Don't expect too much though, after all this is a completely failed project!
