Captcha codes or whatever they are called

Without captchas just about every forum on the internet would be full of Russian bots posting badly worded spam advertising Russian bots used for posting badly worded spam on internet forums. It's like a Xibit meme without meme. We all hate the CAPTCHAS but short of disconnecting Russians and Chinese from the net, you will see more and more of them and they will be more and more pesky and difficult to read.

Don't you hate websites that make it more and more difficult for you to search or in some cases even post.

Captcha or whatever it's called does my head right in. Also their codes are getting more and more obscure what started off as a colour blinds
nightmare has turned in to a game of pictonary for the average user.

I hate em and wanna start a parliamentary petition to get them banned from the UK who's with me?
the best captcha is the one thats barely ever used anyway.

just just have a to click a red circle on an image. i dont know why sites insist on the retarded alphabet ones

I dislike stupidly difficult captchas, but they are useful. I used to get a fair amount of spam even with a basic captcha integrated into the php e-mail me form of my website until I wrote a proper one. Haven't had anything since.

There are a couple of sites I use regularly that have diabolical codes, it takes 2-3 goes to get into my account some times, and i'm paying to do it!

I came across one a few weeks ago that was quite original though. It had a selection of coloured smilies and asked to click the "sad magenta" one etc.

They really get on my nerves, I hate it when you know you've typed it correctly & it still says it is wrong!

The lock out some sites have after a few failed attempts really ticks me off too.

Bugs me even more if you try to listen to the audio version (because the graphic is completely illegible) and the words are spoken by what sounds like a badly damaged "Speak and Spell", and are completely unintelligible.
