What the hell is this, and when will it go away? It's the most frustrating, ludicrous thing on the internet. I've walked away from signing up to things because I just dont have the patience in me to go through it.

Im trying to unsubscribe to something someone has used my email address before and gone through 20 pages of CAPTCHA before it said "Incorrect CAPTCHA" and I almost lost my mind.

No way to just block it, eh?

If it gives a tick for showing you aren't a robot then move your mouse around the page and over it a couple of times before clicking and it sometimes doesn't show up.

They're annoying as anything.

Ah, but once you pass them the world opens up for you. Would you like to receive notifications? We would like to use your location. Do you agree? We use cookies. K? Just **** off already

The worst thing is that it's full of American tat.

Try to check a tracking number on Royal Mail and you get this American CAPTCHA asking you to select all crosswalks? Many will be like WTF is a crosswalk. Same on some of the official Spanish websites I use. 'Select all store fronts' and get pixelated images of old store fronts from some low rent single rise US town, that looks nothing like any store front you'd find in Europe.

At that point I always just presume I'm either an idiot and can't recognise a bridge, or I'm actually being used in a CAPTCHA solving company without realising it.

Actually...! :/

That is not an unlikely scenario!

It wont be long before AI bots will be able to do this really!

That's exactly what it's for. Remember the old ones where you had two numbers next to each other? The left one was the actual captcha and the right one was irrelevant, Google just wanted to see what you put in. Turns out the numbers were house numbers for Streetview.

Not direct to you Diddums, but is there a plugin somewhere that auto "OK" the cookie notification on webpages, my god they infuriate me.

Have a browse of https://singletrackworld.com/forum/ (a bike forum, but with lots of GD style topics thrown in) for a few minutes and try to stay cool. They value your privacy, but not your patience! ;)

You're actually helping Google to train their AI by completing these things.

Yep. They hire people to go through captcha-like grids of footage from driverless cars to identify road signs and other relevant features for the AI to mull over.

So a bit like using self-service checkouts at supermarkets, you're working for free when completing captchas. While there's some benefits to the former, the latter is quite the scam.
