I think you are allowed to close them enough to get a grip, don't they measure the gap with a bank card or something when being certified as long as the gap is the same that is ok ??

as for me attacking the #4 i think il be a year or two away from that beast, il be happy to get on the #3 before christmas.
 
Well the 1's arrived this morning cant quite close it but it is close, about a hairs width off ;)

I use my trainers as warm ups now then go on to the 1's going to get the 2's on order now so I can use all three in my work out, from what I gather that is the way to go!

This time they also came with a card (like a credit card) to measure starting point from

I have to say what a good service from Ironmind it I was charged 24.95 on my statment and that was inc postage. So not that much more than Kettle bell company.
 
The bugger about these is that its getting them to touch thats the tricky bit, the pressure required gets steadily more as you close them, this means most people can do the first half but the second half is the killer. Remember the handles must touch :D
