Thanks for all that commented on my other Great Outdoors topic, the images i put in are currently being judged and will find out at the start of December what sort of marks I get from that.

The next of the competition themes is 'Capture the Moment' and going by the previous theme (Movement) the judge can be quite critical of the processing used e.g colour casts on prints etc so wanted to get some feedback on these two shots which I'm going to use. Both have been cross processed to a degree and I know that style isn't to everyones tastes so any advice on processing the shots differently will be welcomed.

Id like the first with different processing, seems very flat to me.

I know what you mean, there's a lot going on in the background colour wise so since the guys wearing quite dark clothing he's blending into the darkness quite a bit. I was thinking about trying to put in a fake blur to the background to make him pop out a bit more but unsure as to whether it would just look crap :p

i think the second the biker is less visible to dark all his upper body .. prefer the first and id blur the background ie change his depth of field..

Not hugely different on the processing but I missed out on the cross processing. Adjusted the levels, added a black mask to the background whilst retaining the biker in the original process to make him stand out a bit more. Added an unsharp mask then decreased the saturation but increased the vibrancy. Better or worse than whats already there or is it missing something? Suggestions welcome :)
