I'll keep it relatively short..

Looking for a new stereo for my car, but I'm wondering whether I'll be able to control/skip tracks on Spotify (on my Android phone via Bluetooth) using the radio & steering wheel buttons?

I know you could do it with the normal Music player on Android but not sure about Spotify.

Anybody have experience of this?

Thanks.

Works for me with my Alpine unit. Whatever player I'm using the skip tracks buttons just skip that one. Spotify, Google Music, whatever.

Yeah you can if you setup and the stereo says it has adaptor for you car. It won't be plug and play though I think. I control all my spotify music through my car stereo and sounds sweet.

Thanks for that.. You know what's coming.. :p

Spec me: Single DIN unit with bluetooth and steering wheel controls. £150 budget. Stock speakers, no amp/sub though I may upgrade next year.

Pioneer MVH-X560BT RDS Tuner with Bluetooth and USB - £97.40

Plus extra for steering wheel adaptor if you don't already have one.

That has no CD deck, there's probably an equivalent with though.

Thanks for the suggestions. Actually looked at that Alpine one earlier today.

Not bothered about CD.

Is there anything that would place the Alpine ahead of the Pioneer technically? I don't know a lot, I'm only looking at the 4x 50W and 3 Pre-out ability.

The Pioneer has a horrible display for a start. The Alpine has a parametric EQ built in so you can fine-tune it to deal with your speakers / car's interior.

True, wasn't a fan of that display :)

The Alpine does look good.

Now.. Cables..

Am I right in thinking I wouldn't need this if I got this?

In which case this is all I'll be needing?
