Car Audio Set Up

Greetings. Ive just installed a new Sony Head unit and Pioneer amp in my BMW 5 Series E39. Does anyone know a good car audio specialist that does a tuning and set up service ?

What kind of tuning are you looking for?

What is the capability of the Sony head unit?


If it just has Treble and Bass, there won’t be much value in seeing an audio specialist, as they won’t be able to do much with the system

I need a Audio specialist with a scope to set the gains and frequency accurately. Its a Sony AX6050 head unit with 55W per channel and 5V pre outs.

Im in South Wales but happy to travel.

The bass / treble & EQ etc are easy enough.

I've never needed a scope to do that. You just listen. You can hear if it's clipping.

It's a stereo, in a car, not a music studio. Adjust the EQ until it sounds how you want it, job done.

B&B Car Audio are in Cardiff. I had them install a car alarm on an Evo I had. Seemed decent enough.

Never used them for car audio. Unless you're faffing with a dedicated DSP, I'd just play around with it until you like what you hear.

I have Match DSP in my Cayman and use EQ Wizard to do a base setup and then tune it to how I want it.

lucky you if you still have a din slot - I just set the front-cross-over using speaker spec and configured time-correction
by measuring the distances, and adjusted the parametric eq to taste.
(why do we now have engineered/ai immerisive surround sound with 10s of speakers that sounds worse than a plain stereo imaging of original recording )
