Same here, coded the car so it’s disabled whenever I start it up. Car was registered in December 2014 so the battery is at least 7 years old and still doing great. Then again, I only really do long trips in the car anyway which probably does it some good.
Why?I disable stop start every time I start the car on mine.
So it doesn't stop and start when he stops the car? Why?
Why?
Yes same on my Golf when I had it (13 plate), worked without issue and only sold it last year.Mines a 16 plate and I fully use Stop/Start, still on original battery and perfect. Gets used a lot as well.
Really don't know why people turn it off.

You’ve disabled it, but drive in a way that doesn’t require it anywaySame here, coded the car so it’s disabled whenever I start it up. Mainly because I want to give the battery an easier life.

Disable stop start, traction control.... it's like a bloody pre-flight check on an aircraft.....

If you’re pottering about town on the odd occasion but doing long trips the rest of the time, you’re just disabling it for no added benefit.

The starter, battery and whole charging system are designed with it in mind. But you know how it goes their are a lot of armchair experts that know better.Pretty certain that cars with stop/start technology use batteries that have been designed with frequent stop/start in mind.
The car is also intelligent enough to disable stop/start for things like when the car is warming up, or it detects the battery voltage is at an optimum level.
Disabling it is unlikely to make any difference.

Won’t do any harm disabling it either.

Aside from it not functioning and reducing emissions in city centres and the like as originally intended?
I thought it was mainly to reduce fuel consumption, engine off while stationary.
