Car boot bargains?

Got a picture that a reporter took of me and my sister at a local one back in the 80s holding up a millennium falcon and some star wars figures :D

Was even in the local newspaper.

I went with the missus to the biggest car boot sale ive ever seen in seaham, durham last week, it took us about 2 hours to get around the whole site.

I was quite suprised at the amount of toiletries and what looked like bulk bought ebay small electrical goods/batteries etc for sale....infact there was more new tat than old.

sadly seems to be a current trend for car boots, traders have taken hold and seem to peddle all the ebay/shopping channel tat. ped egg anyone ?

much like ebay itself finding a bargain is now the exception rather than the rule :(

50 quid for a psp, with the normal pap (carry case, adapters, games ect) Couldn't get one less for 90 quid at the time on auction.

It'd even been fixed for what i wanted it for.

Guy was selling loads of great little tech bits on the cheap, lucky on the draw, thats what it's all about though, you chance it, 9 times out of 10 you find nothing.

Last year, I bought a Processor off an old bird on a stall once for 2 quid.

What she didnt know was that it happened to be an E6550. It's now sat in the daughters PC :)

I had two tables yesterday and sold my n64 boxed with a extra controller and 1080 snowboarding for £6 so i think that guy got a bargain

I got a SEGA Dreamcast + VMU + 1 controller + MSR and all leads for £2.50, that was around 3 years ago and still have it now and working perfectly :D

I've never been to one but my best mate earns a lot of money by reselling stuff on Ebay.
The best bargain he ever had was a bloke selling a 1962 Fender Stratocaster and he got it for £150.
The bloke had no idea of it's value because it came out of his dead sons attic and was in poor condition because paint had flaked off.

How much did he sell that for? :o

I would have kept it... those things are going to continue increasing in value... :o

Oh yeah, you can pick up the crap that charity shops won't even take.
You find better stuff rooting round through skips.

The other day i came accross a load of block paving someone was chucking, got my mate down there, 3 trips with the van, got enough block paving to do mine and the neighbours driveways for free.

He didn't but the shame is that he is one of the best guitarists I've ever played with but he now has a disability where he can play one song and then needs a rest.
