just a thought was parked in carpark couple of days ago went back to the car later only to discover a nice dent on passenger door most prob caused by someone opening their door fast the dent is quite deep its a shame as its a black car only four months old rather than go thru insurance gonna c if they have cctv if so are they allowed to look at the footage and give me the details of the car that caused the damage should not be too hard as the car park was near enough empty and being a new car i parked it away from all other cars ?, has anyone else had any similar situation

If you think you are going to show up at their house with the video tape and demand money....think again, I can't imagine it going down too well!

Legally you have no right to view any video recording made by a third party and having worked in law enforcement I know you will be denied access and basically told there is nothing they can do.... not what you wanted to hear but I thought you may need to know !

Thought as much tbh. Most prob get the repair done on the insurance providing its covered should be as fully comp. Glad got my ncb protected. Cheers for the advice

MIght be cheaper in the long run to just call a mobile dent specialist.

Search for a PDR guy, will cost you £60 but the dent will be gone.

In instances like this out of principal I'd go the distance with this - it's a four month old car, probably worth tens of thousands of pounds and someone is prepared to dent it and bugger off - unacceptable IMO.

Presumably you can get hold of such footage if a court orders it?

got a quote for £90 from mobile dent repairer so gonna go with that, gotta say will most prob take park and ride to town next time lol.

Massively frustrating when this happens, only got mine a little while ago and some **** has scratched the front and side of it. How some people simply don't care and just do things like this really makes me rage.

Get a couple more quotes as it might be worth shopping around. my step dad got the entirety of his 8 year old rover done for £90 from a dent guy and that was about 10-15 dents a couple of them biggies too. If I had the details of the guy who did it I'd stick em up for you but I don't unfortunately.

Thanks anyway. Its not worth buying anything decent these days i just hope karma comes back and does the same to them.
