Hi,

My gf has this prob on her audi a3 115k on the clock...

Water is leaking, pressure tests have been done by her regular mechanic and other tests also, he says everytime he has the car that water is not leaking...

What do we do? take it to someone else for a second opinion and run the risk of being conned out of our money or we dont know what else we could try??

anyone know any excellent 5** plus mechanics who could help us in north west london or north london?? pls pls help

thanks in advance

cheers!!!

I had a similar problem on my old Pug, head gasket was gone but it was only losing coolant under high revs.

Is water actually leaking or is it being lost when the car is running?

water is being lost when the car is running...

I was advised to do this test on the head gasket, whereby some fluid "whatever that maybe" is poured over the head gasket and if there are any leaks / cracks the colour of the liquid will change...

thats a block test, the blue chemical is kept in a holder above the coolant header tank, if exhaust emissions are present it changes green. the only way exhaust emissions can get into the coolant is via a HGF.
