What do people use to dry their cars after washing them? I used to use the flash car wash thing which did a pretty good job but the refills are in short supply and it appears it's being discontinued anyway.

I've never really got on with shammys, i spotted this on ebay, but i think the price alone puts me off, plus the fact i think it will scratch the car.

Are the Meguiars water magnet drying towels any good?

I got a Meguirs water magnet, they are great the first few times, once you wash them though their effectiveness seems to decrease, if your really into drying your car buy a Sonus drying towel.

I had one of those Flash things, got it from Tesco for like £20 quid and I'm sure I saw them on TV from some cheapo shop for about a fiver for the full kit

I just take mine for a quick drive:D Water marks aren't easilly seen on white cars though.

Awful on black though :(

Are those Sonus drying towels much better than the Meguiars ones then?

Don't buy a blade, it will damage the paint if used wrong.

A couple of large Sonus drying towels should do the job fine.

Neil.

Never had a problem with using a blade to get the water off and then towel dry with a microfibre towel. My paint is so soft it can be scratched with a finger nail!

As long as you have properly washed your car with a decent lambswool mitt or similar and then rinsed well there should be no grit on there.

After I wash off my car at work, I rag it on the A50 for a few miles & watch the water bead off. :) - Wax helps! ;)

miles better, the meguairs are supposed to be pretty poor in comparison.

In hard water areas it leaves bad water marks, especially on dark colours. I use the megs towel which does the job :)
