Thats crazy, i'd be worried about my wife if she couldnt do a 120 mile round trip in a corolla, the Golf isnt that much better, I guess it much have felt better stroking the soft touch headlamp switch in the Golf for 120 miles :p
 
70 miles a day is about 17k assuming the OP takes 4 weeks worth of leave and doesn't drive anywhere else. Probably worth it.

Sorry, should've said she was comparing it to driving my old E46 on those journeys, which is a hell of lot better cruiser. The Corolla was a T-Sport so did rev quite high on the motorway.
 
im doing 70 miles a day to uni so wont be for too long, need it until the end of the year. However ,I do drive a lot, as I enjoy it as well as going to different cities so my mileage does tend to be on the higher side. Along with other family members who also drive the same car.
 
Thanks again for everyones input. Its going to be a tough decision, going to keep on looking.. my only requirement is heated seats haha
 
I noticed you have the 2.0TDi Ibiza FR on your list. It would be a far better shout than the Mk5 2.0TDi Golf as it has the newer far more reliable 2.0TDi CR engine. The 1.9TDi in the Mk5 is decent though.
