Car gets 157mpg!!

Yeah hardly fair to compare F1 to OEM as OEM have millions of pounds spent on vehicle development...
The comparison is to show what's technically possible. Anything can become cheap if mass produced. The point is that if a 600kg car can be survivable after 180mph crash something like this can be just as safe as a regular road car is today.

Well maybe if everyone wasn't in such a bloody hurry to reach the next set of red lights it wouldn't be a problem. My 100E originally had 39hp and I had no problems with that

You cant blame your cars lack of power on everyone else being in a rush. Modern roads are busy and require quick action and reponse time.

No they don't. I don't see one car on the roads around here doing 30, which is the limit in all of London. In fact I don't see any doing 40 anymore either, it's 45 or more on most of the roads. You do need quick reactions when everyone is doing 50% over the limit, if they were doing 30 you have all the time in the world. It's not like anyone is going to get anywhere anyway there are traffic lights every couple of hundred yards.

People just want bigger more powerful cars so they feel bigger and more important on the road. Penis extensions. Get over it. Something like that concept is the cure for all the crap air quality here but people like you can't get your head round it because you'd feel like a little boy driving it, not the big man you are in whatever it is you drive.

Edit: that was a way harsh rant :D

the thing is most of us here are into cars. What you need to remember is for most people there simply to get you from A to B. reliably. I can see these types of cars being very populer, if the top speed is limited to say 90mph the acceleration shouldn't be to bad (talking in generall not about that car in perticuler)..
I know my dad would buy something like that. He doesn't care aboout looks and perfomance. He likes cheap cars, he can service himself with good mpg.

ps. I would love a car liek that as my daily driver. Then you have your gaz gussling penis extension for the weekends/trackdays.

lol Jonny69, your full of rage mate.

If things are that bad in London... dont live there. I think you had to be a bit daft to live somewhere like London if air quality is one of your lifes concerns!

Lol, RAAAAARGH!

Nah, it's not really a concern, it's just noticeable if you walk anywhere you get choked. Those sorts of vehicles are best suited to city areas where the roads are too congested to be able to support everyone driving 4x4s and exec barges which weigh a lot and take up a lot of space. I can't see it ever happening somewhere like London though, people are either too proud or too poor.
