Thanks all!

Funny little game, and it has sorted out something that has nagged for ages! :D

I must say it does look pretty good slammed to the ground as it is. :)

I now have the reg number (just been for a walk :p). Where is a good place to check it? I tried one of the insurance companies and they didnt recognise it.

a commodore VT no less

personal experience tells me it is actually the VX ;) The VT has lights that don't ingress into the boot lid, the later VX (this one) has more full wrap around lights.

/edit the chrome window trims also adds its either HSV (which the bumpers dont look to be) or a posh Calais version

But the VT kinda looks better in my eyes unless you like the large plastic looking bootlids kinda reminiscent of the old statesmans, but hey what would I know? Give me the Ford EA anyday :D

and whats all this its the 'ozzie omega' rubbish? more like the other way around, its the english commie!

Cheers!

Do you know what f-320 might mean on the rear? Thanks.

maybe cubic inches

320 cubic inches = 5.24386048 liters.

and considering most databases you have tried can't identify the car properly maybe the capacity is wrong as well on RAC.

its probably kilowatts, holden like bragging that fact on the back of their cars!

meaning he has 435 bhp under the hood! not too shabby!

VX Commodore is a 5.7 V8

so the RAC website is correct

KW output is 225, which puts it at 302bhp. Not too shabby

However, the later VY Commodore's 5.7 V8 was 235kw or 320bhp. So probably where the "f320" comes from

But that car has the wrong lights to be a VY, so definately a VX. But VY production began in 2002, and its a 2003 car.

Any australians on here care to cmment how we've apparently got a 2003 VY Commodore, but with a 2002 VX shell ?

*edit* VX Commodore

VY Commodore

blatently not a VY

also looking back, only the HSV variants were oficially imported, and they were 255kw, so its not an official import. Im guessing its some kind of overlap model when VX production was ending, but not enough on the web about it.

the problem kind of is that the ozzies go crazy for the commies, so many variants, so many engines, so many different versions and companys badging them differently, by the time one gets hipped over here a lot of its identity is lost, a walk through any ozzie neighbourhood will reveal so many variants of the commie that its hard to catalogue them all, believe me I tried when I was over there, both mentally and with a camera!

Either way its nice to see a hard lookin gen4 on the streets of the UK! I'm wanting a VE ute SS please!
