Hey guys

I am at that silly time of year, car insurance renewal time.

3 years NCB, aged 30 no points. (Never made a claim)

A standard Impreza WRX and the lowest quote I have had is £1050 for fully comp.

With prices like this, it's no surprise that their are idiots on the road with no insurance.

I will try some "performance specialists" on Monday see if I can get any better.

Tried admiral i take it ?

They were cheapest for me this year. Specialist that came up cheapest for me on the Vectra was Chris Knott with Highway (part of the LV group)

Funny I told my gf to not bother trying to get me added to her insurance (Derv 54 plate Polo) as shes 28 and I'm 21. She phoned up anyway and they added me for £0! Not even an admin fee, and an excess of £250 (my Boxster S is something crazy like £750 or £1000).

Still no company will even consider insuring me on a Mustang just because it's LHD

A friend pays £140 a year to insure his VX220.

It's just cost £70 to add me as a named driver for a week :(

This was another case of the "under 25s" - people try telling you that 25 no longer means anything but this would have been £35 (£15 of which admin fee) if I was two months older!

I still pay £700 to insure a £3k volvo at 28 with a clean license and 4 years NCB due to my postcode :/

Funnily enough, I ran though a quote on an Impreza WRX last week (after browsing PH classifieds!) and that came out at just over £700, and my postcode is the same as yours - cant be that bad! Thats 25/0pts/4ncb

Had to be MikeHiow with the 'friend' (He has one for every occasion doesn't he!) with the bizarrely low insurance premium...

Over a grand does seem a bit much to be paying once you're 30, I got a bit of a bargain this year, only £282 for my mr2 turbo (I'm 26 with 3 years ncb) all mods declared and with free breakdown cover. It was £740 last year, I am most pleased.

3 years NCB, 27 years old. Do you think it's time for Streetcars?

Def try Flux, got my CTR down to £520 with them with 5yrs Protected NCB (modified too)

edit - Had to limit myself to 7k miles though, but it isn't too bad as I do around 5 give or take :)

Just a quick one...I raised my mileage from 10k to 12.5k and my insurance quote dropped, I also raised the value of my car by 20% and my quote dropped...might be worth a try. It's crazy stuff like that that makes insurance a damned headache.
