Sorry to hi-jack.

But if I was to buy a blank ford key for my focus, where could I get it cut? I know how to programme it, but not sure about how hard it is to cut a car key compaired to your average house key.

Piece of cake. I do 'em. :)
Just take it to any reputable key cutter.

Any1 know if volksawgen can get a replacment key? had a shocking week and along with many other rubbish things, lost all my keys, golf and dodge :(..... Cant wait for this week to end, I must be due some luck soon.

few£16 for the key then £20 to program it to start the engine.. Wouldn't of thought that a 1993 golf would have any electronics in the key...

got to go take my v5 down there only id they want..

Im relived im not getting bent over and given 10" LOL was thinking it would have cost a lot more.

is that how much a copy is?

I picked up a 2nd hand fob & new blade from the bay and took it to the local Pug stealership. "Sorry we don't cut them, you'll have to go to a auto locksmiths.", "umm, this IS the peugeot dealership isn't it?", "yeah, but we don't cut the keys here, we get another guy to do it, here's his number"

Ring, ring, "Reprogram your 2nd hand key? That'll be 50 quid plus VAT m8"

Ended up getting the blade cut for a fiver, might be useful if i ever lock the keys in the car (somehow!). Wish i knew the code to my immobiliser :(

My Alfa cost me £121 for a replacement. I couldn't find the orginal so it was
£80 key
£15 for a new ID card
Rest was labour to get it to work.

Found the key + orginal and ID card two days later. I was gutted.
