Hi all,

I've been busy a lot recently with work, and for one reason or another I haven't driven my car for around 4.5 weeks - A while I know...

Anyway, I've just gone out to the old girl as I thought I'd give her a bit of a run and she wont start. I turn the key, my usual lights come on and when i go to start her it turns slowly and just kinda runs out of steam... I'm guessing that my battery has discharged due to it not being driven for so long.. Any ideas?

Car is a 95 Clio 16v btw..

Ta,

Matt

definately sounds like a dead battery to, if the engine is cranking over real slowly, gets slower and slower the dies

get someone with another car and some jump leads to give you a jump start? not rocket science

I know I know - unfortunately get a jump isnt an option at the moment, as there is no one around to get one from! Also being honest.. I dont know how to jump start a car :o

I know i have weird battery terminals on my car (they kind of screw down from the top.. as opposed to tighten from the side and they are totally covered by the plastic turning bit...)

If someone could explain how to jump it then that would be really cool, even if its for my future reference..

Put it into 2nd gear with the clutch in, get someone to push it.

Then when you're going fast enough let the clutch up quickly then dip it again quickly and press the throttle.

I have no one to help me get it out the drive, which is at least i two man job due to the hill its on... How difficult am I :p

OK, I've got the battery off the car and im about to shoot down to hellfrauds and get a charger... will anything do pretty much or do i need to look out for specific numbers etc?
