Hey guys, im currently sitting in a car park using my phone to type this. Just been to the dealers to get the turbo on the leon fixed, and on the drive home i noticed it was running very hot, the temp gauge was almost at 130, usually its at 90. Put the heat on to try and cool it down but its stone cold. Im thinking they might have drained and forgotten to fill the cooling system, which means i could seize the engine by driving it. Does this sound right?

Thanks

I'd call them and ask. Explain what has happened and they might organise to send someone out to have a look at it. They couldn't deny it's a bit of a coincidence!

Oh and don't drive it any further.

If there was no coolant you'd be more likely to find that the temperature guage would be reading less than normal as without coolant there's nothing to transfer the heat to the temp sender.

Still get onto the dealer and have them look at it though as it will still most likely be something they've done.

Running hot? No warmth from the heater? Nooooooooo............Bad sign that!

Fingers crossed it's nothing major :) Could well just be an airlock if they refilled it with the heater off.

Everything under the bonnet was fine, all at the correct level. Its just been serviced as well. Ive been rescued anyway and they are trying to find whats wrong with it, hopefully nothing serious! In the meantime i plan on ruining the 1.2 ibiza they lent me as payback!
