Haven't had much excuse/inspiration to use the camera lately but after washing the car yesterday I decided to try and get some photos of it, still have a lot to process but this one I liked:-

Thanks, yeah took quite a few shots but as usual it's trying to find the time to process them. Anyway here's another:-

Yep tonemapped, I've got a couple of others I need to post up that have had the same done but then converted to B&W and I think they look pretty good.

All I see in the first one is a car with a pylon attached to the roof? Is that the effect you are after?

Can't say it was no, but seeing as it's easily identified as a pylon I wasn't expecting anyone to actually think it was attached to the roof.

how did u process so on the car was in colour and the rest in B&W? I have lightroom; can it be done on that?

Also in 3, how did u get that grimey look? Or was it jsut very good photography?

I didn't actually do selective colouring on shot 2, it's just a cold tone filter with some colour curve adjustments to wash up the outer parts.

For selective colouring I normally take an image, duplicate it to a second layer on top, drop the colour out of that layer using whatever B&W process you prefer, and then use the eraser tool (soft brush) to introduce colour to the selected areas.

For the third shot I used a polarizing filter on the lens, took three bracketed shots, generated a HDR type image and then played with the Tone mapping (Photomatrix).

Photos work. Car works.

The first would be my favourite but for the pylon sticking right out the top of the car. I wouldn't mind the power lines, but the pylon itself spoils in imo. The colours and contrast in that one are great.
