May need to rent a car at some point next month.

Does anyone know of a rental company that will rent Estate cars to under 25's? I've tried Enterprise, who won't.

Anyone rented an Estate under the age of 25? Not particuarly fussed what it is.

National will offer a Mondeo Estate for £75 for 24 hours which seems ridiculously expensive but then I've no concept of whats cheap and what isn't.

Is that any good?

Thrifty.. 40 quid for a Vectra SRi 150 CDTi Estate. Bargain!

But then..

'We cannot rent to full time students. This also applies to students even if they are in part time employment or undertaking a period of employment as part of their course.'

How utterly lame.

Why are they so worried about students?

The worst anyone's likely to do with it is use it to cart their belongings across the country to halls etc.

Exactly and I bet 95% of Estate hires by old men in September are for the same purpose.

And they let transits out to middle aged men, who use them as course cars in rallys, thrash them round Grizedale forest all day, give em a quick wash and take them back.

Is there any way of getting your parents to get the car out and have you drive it?
Also, does this mean your moving out Fox :p

I thought you worked part time on placement?. Doesn't that count?.

Failing that sod it and chuck whatever it is in the back of your old mundano if you still have it. Take the back seats out for a day :p.

In addition, I expect it has another condition which states not to hire out to Fox as he as never had a good thing to say about a Vectra in his life!

Have you tried Avis? I've had a number of estates from them.

ditto.

its not like i have ever been asked for proof of my job status when hiring a car!

Trouble is if it all goes Pete Tong they might check fox against the national insurance database. Since his quoterd profession on his cover for the beamer is probably student he could be busted.

Have you tried asking about vans fox?

Local companies tend to be better for younger drivers.

I took out a transit the other week local place only needed you to be 21.

I doubt it. As long as he just bends the truth. At this moment in time he isn't a student, he's working like anyone else. He may decide to go back to uni in September mind ;)
