Car stationery for like a month? is it possible to ignite it??

What a strange idea..

A pretty good one I'd say.

The wife has had a few Renaults with key cards (I've managed to get her out of that phase now thankfully) and I always thought it was a neat idea. You only need the metal key in an emergency, so why not hide it inside the fob? Better than having to carry one in your wallet or being locked out if the car or fob battery goes flat :)

Certainly a good enough idea that Mercedes use it too ;)

That's what I thought. So basically to get into any keyless Renault you need a generic piece of flat metal

I've just had a look at the link posted and can see what you mean. Although it looks like a simple flat piece of metal it is actually a key, but the "cut" part is on the opposite side to the one shown in all of the pictures (probably just in case someone tries to copy it from the image) :)

you don't even use the card on the high end espace/laguna's, i have my card in my pocket and once one of the door sensors get me reaching for the handle the car automatically unlocks.
Then aslong as I stay within a few meter radius of the car it will start without putting the card in the slot.

Lol at the jokes I was rushing when I typed it yesterday, @ Fr0dders thx for that I tried but still wont open. all doors open except for the back. I've just called Green Flag over and hope they get it working.

If all you want is the spare wheel why not just fold the rear seats forward, crawl in the boot and take the spare out that way

Boot release won't work with a flat battery as it is electrical, operated by a micro switch in the exterior handle. There may be some kind of emergency release on the inside though, but again you'll have to crawl over the back seats to get to it.

^^^ this :p unless..... the seats don't go down...which would be silly :p every car's rear seats should go down (shakes fists at audi making it a factory option in some aged A4s.... making my life difficult to find them with!!!)

or now that you're in the car can't you get a jump? xD
