i want a stereo that plays mp3s + Ipod interface connector (that allows me to control my Ipod from the Head unit),

how many of you have something like that/how do you find using it?

ive got an ipod mini full of mp3, i dont like changing cds all the time in my car stereo so i want to buy something that will allow me to have a lot of songs at one time :),

what do you recommend (budget 250 quid),

currently ive got a KDC-3031 but want to change it for something that will allow me to connect my ipod mini + control it from the stereo,

I've got an Alpine 9847 with the ipod interface and I'm finding it very good :)

You need to have your ipod organised though otherwise it won't be that simple to find songs etc, luckily I'm a bit obsessive like that :p

Got mind as part of a bundle from Halfords (don't laugh) for £200 installed. Can't fault it. The HU it's top of the range but that's not I wanted, for the price I could argue. Alpine also do some HU's with this glide bar thing on it which is suppost to help with searching but I tried it out and I wasn't impressed :(

What would be the best solution for a Ford Fiesta Freestyle (2002) standard CD Player think it's the 6006 model ?

Was thinking of the new iTrip, looks good and could be had for about £20

BeatMaster :D

I used to use an itrip but to be honest they're not very good. They do the job fair enough and for £20 you can't complain. But there's no comparision between the quality (obviously).

You can also get AUX cables and like for standard HU's for around £80-£100 but I wanted a new HU anyway and the one I have is a big improvement over the stardard one I had :)

Seems a lot to spend, can't change the headunit since it's not my car :( Although to be honest the current system is quite impressive so just looking to add iPod functionality to the setup :)

What to do....

Speak to a local ICE place, the one local to me said they could make an AUX lead for any standard manufactures HU which plugs into the cd changer socket I think...
You don't mean a headphone plug to RCA plugs do you? If so you can buy them for about a fiver.

I'm not sure but there's two options, one like that (I use one at home for my stereo) but the one I'm on about has an actual ipod socket plug on the end so the quality is better :)

(Dunno what you mean by RCA though :o)

whats the best way to connect my creative labs zen touch to a HU, I'm going to be buy a HU in the next month or so, £150 - £200 budget. I am assuming I can't get a fancy one like the ipod ones that just plug straight in.

i'll go to halfords and check if they do this deal in new malden (london),
i'm not going to pay £200 + £40 for installation,
but £200 for this sounds good for me,

thx for all your help,

Hmmm....I got a tape with a wire on which goes into the end of my IPOD then into the cassette player of my stereo. £4.50. :p

that doesn't sound as good as having it plugged into you HU does it? I remember doing that with CD players and you always had to turn the volume up stupidly loud.

I don't have to turn the volume up loud on mine. Sounds great as well IMO.

Only problem is, I can't control it from my stereo, but I just have the playlist set up before I start driving. Or just put it on SHUFFLE. :D
