Car stolen.

Well I recovered the car earlier and towed it home, wasn't quite in the skip, but looks as if whoever was driving tried to bury it under it.

I hope they got hurt too, as it looks like they come around a blind corner at speed and slammed straight into it, caving the bonnet in and bending various other parts.

Not really sure what to tell the insurance company, as I don't want to make a claim. Shall I just cancel the policy and give them an excuse as to why, or just tell them the truth?

Well they offered me a recovery service thing where they wait by the vehicle whilst it is removed and have it checked for finger prints etc, which would have cost me about £100 plus £12 a day storage.

Just had another phone call, apparently it's in a skip in an alleyway in the same road as reported last night. Should be fun trying to get that out. :o

I dont get that, why should anybody have to pay 100 quid to get their own car back that some penis nicked? its a joke.

Is it worth repairing, just to keep you going until you find another decent motor?

just transfer the policy to your next motor, and scrap the old one.

Because the alternative is that everyone pays for it (and more money is wasted because of the way taxation works).

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

I think it's just so the car gets removed and taken to a safe place so it doesn't get stolen again, or set on fire or something. Like Dolph said, the insurance company will pay it if you make a claim so usually it doesn't really matter. Luckily the car was only down the road so I could tow it back myself.

I don't even think its repairable looking at the damage to the front end.

I hope you weren't fully comp on it? Scrap it and move the policy to the new car.

No, just TPFT.

Scrap it and move the policy to the new car it is then. Cheers.
