I'm trying to renew my car tax online but it's saying I don't have valid insurance. I took out a new policy yesterday at about 6pm but the web site is still give me the message.

PLEASE ALLOW 24 HOURS FOR YOUR INSURANCE RECORD TO BE UPDATED BEFORE YOU USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN.

IF YOU DO USE THIS SERVICE WITHIN THE NEXT 24 HOURS, YOUR TRANSACTION WILL NOT BE SUCCESSFUL.

Dose this mean I have to wait another 24 hours before I can check again? I spoke to some at the DVLA but I may as well have been speaking to someone mentally retarded.

I thought the insurance database usually updates by 00:00. I would wait until 1am this morning and try again.

If the insurance company is on the ball they should have sent the insurance certificate in the post today, so if you may get it in the post tomorrow.

If you do then take the insurance certificate to your local post office and get it done there and then.

I see what you're saying but by the way the "warning" message is worded it's not going to let me check again for another 24 hours. Which seems a bit stupid :confused:
