How many miles are you expected to get out of a set of tyres?

I purchsed a full set of Pilot EXALTO PE2 195/50 R15 back in May this year. I have done around 5,000 miles so far. The tyres still look in good condition and I drive quite steady in my Fiesta TDCI. Do you think now would be a good time to swap the rear pair with the fronts, as I only have drums on the rears?

Depends on so many factors, it is difficult to say. It can be down to your driving style, the power of the car, it's traction, whether they are inflated correctly, the make and type of tyre, if the car has traction control or not.

When I had a 2.0l Pug, 12,000 miles was all the fronts could take
The Golf GTi Mk4 got 24,000 out of them, and the Focus ST170 I have now I expect 25,000 as it has traction control, already done 12,000 and they look like new, and they are Pirellis :)

Toyo Proxes are lasting around 11-12k miles at the front of the Mondeo, looking to change them again soon, new set was in February and now around 2mm left.

Maybe looking at Continentals ContiSportContact 3 next time.

depends on the driving style, same 195/65/15's on both the octavia and wifeys audi,

I managed 28k or there abouts on my front set, wifey managed just under 9k :)

My previous Tyres Have been as follows Budget Nangkangs 4K Bridgestones 4.5K Barium (Continentals) 5204 Miles.

Going to pick up my car today with 4 new tyres and fully refurbished alloys

The car is a Pug 307 XSI 2.0L Petrol With TC & ESP. (Both have never been turned off)

my golf has paradas on, i think ive done 13k on the tyres now, ive got about 4mm left and i hammer the car to pieces all the time.

Oh dear! Do you ever get traction, or do you just wheelspin from place to place? Constantly.

So I should be ok for the time being, or should I just swap them over for the Winter?

You can swap the rears for the fronts, but probably not much point tbh, if you have driven steady and the tyres still look like they have quite a bit of tread on, they should be fine.

done around 1500miles stupid roundabouts and to much peddle, makes my driverside front tyre cry :(. mid-budget so should be hard wearing. The rest still look untouched.

On a front wheel drive car I expect the rears to last several years, and the fronts to last between 12-24months depending on how hard you drive.

I do not wheel spin all over the place.. the reason for the low mileage is due to 85% of the use being on B roads , meaning that there often taking heavy breaking or accelerating due to the bends.

I also like to power round roundabouts.
