Carabao Cup - Third Round ** Spoilers ** [8th - 10th November 2022]

I wouldnt play any from the usual 11 in this.

Kelleher
Ramsey
Gomez
Phillips
Tzimikas
Ox (lol)
Milner
Bajetic
Carvalho
Doak
Gordon

Something like that. Maybe if he can play Nunez for 60.

I don't think Gordon is fit and I would be surprised if Doak started (or even featured). Bobby Clarke is probably the most likely kid to feature - he's been on the bench a few times this season already. I'd guess Jones and or Elliott could be involved and then it's just a question of whether we play one of Nunez/Bobby/Salah just so we have a striker on the pitch or don't play with one at all.

I don’t mind us going with a relatively strong lineup. We’ve got one game left in the league and then we break for the WC. It’s not as if picking up an injury that lasts a couple a few weeks is gonna affect your league form too much.

No coach in the right mind would have sanctioned the transfers of Maupay and McNeil, at least Garner showed promise but even if that was in the Championship, none of them seems good enough to start for a Prem side.

Strange one.

I always scream at weak teams Newcastle use to put out for cup games. We had some decent squads that could have had a good cup run if they tried but Premier League safety always came first.

Now we sitting 3rd and European football might be on the cards.

I now wouldn't mind a weaker team tonight if it meant a decent result versus Chelsea.

Could possibly see a front 3 tonight of

Maxie/wood/Frazer

Off to the Emirates for the first time this season (been unable to get tickets for me and the missus due to our different membership levels), am hoping for a strong-ish lineup but expecting a lot more youth players and barely any of the first team regulars.

I know where you're coming from, but it's also a chance to give games to players on the periphery:

..................Turner
Cedric...White...Holding....Tierney
........Elneny.......Lakonga
...Nelson...Vieira...Marquinhos
...............Nketiah

Nelson in particular could benefit from game time, Tierney needs more minutes and Vieira must be fed up being on the bench all the time. White could do with a game at CB to keep his oar in and be a potential replacement for Gabriel (or conversely maybe Gabriel should play to build his form). We also need to build more of an assessment on Lakonga, find out if he has what it takes.

Don't forget winning this tie just builds up a fixture congestion problem for the future, Arsenal are already a game behind due to the MC game getting postponed, and they have Europe league to contend with this season.

Garner no good then? Asking from the perspective of a United fan.

Liverpool 11: Kelleher, Ramsay, Phillips, Gomez, Tsimikas, Bajcetic, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Clark, Frauendorf, Carvalho, Stewart. The defence pretty much picked itself but it's slightly surprising just how inexperienced we've gone with the midfield and attack, I'd have thought at least one more senior player may have been involved.
