Carbon Engine Clean, Does It Work ?

117bhp with nos?
No way a paccaso has more than 90bhp....
......... unless the doors and sills are full of water weighing it down
Haha luckily for me mine is still water tight and the sills are in decent condition
they shouldn’t be watertight. Any water that makes it past the window rubbers drains at the bottom of the door, these plug up and the door fills with water.

Happens on front wings as well, they fill up with mud which slowly turns in to compost :/

I’m sure aft has no cleaning additives,? There’s nothing to clean in an auto box or power steering it’s just thick oil that can doesn’t brake down under high pressure.
ATF has a load of detergents and stuff to stop sludge in it

Lots of older/classic car forums recommend it but I never actually bothered myself. Supposedly helps everything clear through before an oil change. Shouldn't be doing many miles on it though.

Others have reported problems caused by it... I remember a MK2 guy who's oil/water exchanger/cooler leaked afterwards as it was likely patching up pinhole leaks with it's own filth :p
deposits can move and get jammed in your oil pump pickup etc too.

I'd personally only do it if I was going to remove sump and clear out the 30 years of gunk

Edit - quick Google and thesedays both sides of the argument are calling it a myth :p:p
