Card for £100 or less?

Need a new card for gaming £100 is the budget and 1680x1050 is the res

Have q6700, 4gb ram, 500w tagan psu.

Maybe a cheap 9800gt to take me upto christmas and then something with more power and a larger power supply?

4870 512mb have been running in that sort of region, go for one of those over a 9800GT as it's much faster

Alternatively go for the cheapest 9800/4850 you can find and wait until the new cards settle down and the mid/low end cards appear

Last I checked Tagans were pretty substantial, and I was running a 4870/[email protected], 4GB etc with a 520w corsair

Excellent value for money and get it before the this weeks offer is over.

Then in a years time or so upgrade to a DX11 card when they are just over £100 and sell the 4870 1GB to go towards it.

I realise you might not want to stretch that far and you are gaming at 1680x1050 so i feel a XFI 4870 512MB is ideal for you.

Found a 4850 with zalman cooler for £82 that will do me for few months

I would advise swapping to a 4870 512 if possible, its only another tenner and substantially faster. Both are good cards though, the zalman should be decent for noise.

throw a few more £ at it and get a GTX 260. That's a great card for 1680x1050

I think your entitled to free delivery? I would go with what everyone recommending, the 4870 512 is a great card for the money
