Card just exploded!!

Bought a X1950XT last week out of the OcUK sale, installed it today, loaded the new drivers, then starting up COD4. Couple of minutes later I started hearing a high-pitched squealing sound coming from the PC and thought it might be the fan. But no.... about 30 seconds after that there's a nice loud bang followed by a very worrying burning smell!! Needless to say I just about **** myself!!

After I'd concluded the PC wasn't actually on fire, I opened it up to find one of the caps on the card had blown! There's even bits of it lying around the case!

Anyway, I've sent an RMA request off although with this card being in the sale, and OcUK not having anymore, not sure how they'll go about replacing it...?

Go for a refund, TBH

Not sure if I'd want a refund - got this card for a pretty reasonable price, although could probably get it slightly cheaper 2nd hand I guess.

A 3850 512MB would be ideal though

We may have a few X1950XT somewhere, we usualy keep things aside that dont show on the website.

If you can't find them, and have to send a 3850 512MB instead, don't fret it
This was a X1950XT 512MB after all...
