Card to run with a Q9550??

No have a look at the stock 4890 thats in there. This review was actually done on official drivers for the 4890 unlike all the release day reviews which used beta drivers.

Even? ATI has very narrow memory Interface and no cuda
Do you fail to see the cheaper priced 260 beats the 4890 also?

Are you a fanboy? I sit on fanboys.

CUDA is a waste of time and the 4800's narrow memory interface is compensated for by memory that runs near the speed of light.

The 4890 is indeed a noisy card, but it is also a great performing card.

The 4890 beats the260 yes it has narrower memory interface but has gddr5 to counteract this and as most revies will show is the faster card in general.

as for cuda how mcuh is it even used in games i think more make use of dx 10.1, and nvidia can't say its pointless anymore as their latest mobile GPU support dx 10.1 to help performance.

So there was a few added touches in spells and stuff i know that would soon get boring to look at where it would not even matter as it really adds nothing to the game play at all really.

ati is a good poor mans card don't get me wrong, but if you want a better card (faster, cooler, less noise, better eye candy, less eletric hungry/more green, better drivers and more support) Team green is the only way, you will save any extra costs of a 275 on your eletric bill, but a 260 is all that is needed until dx 11 is out.

You should be called 'Doctor i fell for all the nvidia advertising BS'. Really how can 1 guy be so stupid. I am glad all us poor men actually have a good cheaper option to buy. My poor mans card is serving me pretty well in the games i play.

You've got a typical fanboy attitude. You appear to be only looking at one benchmark, the 4870 is around equal performance to the GTX260 216, they both trade blows, the 4890 is faster.

How old are you 12?

This CUDA has being around for ages now and I've not found one game I'm interested in that takes proper advantage of it, or even uses it tbh.

Upgrade your Graphics Card to a CrossFire/Sli setup.

becasue you processor will boost the performance even more compared to a single card setup.

I never understand the whole nvidia vs ati thing

Over the years I've had an equal number of cards from both companies and can honestly say I've never experienced any of the so called 'driver' problems with either.

I simple just go with whatever I feel is giving the best bang for buck at the time and forget about it until the next upgrade comes around.

Oh my, I created a monster :D

I don't play that many games on the PC to warrant a crossfire/SLI set up so I want a single card really.

Also the I have read a lot that the ATI is pretty loud so I am leaning toward a 260 at the moment...

If you are worried about noise then the 260 is a good choice.

Personally, I run my 4890 at 40% static fine and think its fine (although my wife might disagree)

My 4890 fan noise is less than my flaming 80mm case fan which just takes the **** to be honest.

So yeah, you can all imagine how loud my case fan is ...
