Having already made a post perviously re this subject I just want to expand on it a little ..
I currently work in an IT helpdesk and have done for a number of years with a large retailer. However the one thing I dont have is any form of qualifications to back up what I do.. now the credit crunch is upon us I cant see my current department/job role surviving too much longer.

So I was thinking of doing the MCDST OR A+ as a starting point. Question is which is the more valuable in respect of long term prospects or even obtaining a postion with another company in the future.

I suppose the MCDST is along the lines of what I am currently doing . but then again the A+ is quite intresting in that it provides a more rounded knowledge of computers..

Your thoughts would be appreciated. In additon should I remain at the company I can use either of them in different departments should a postion arise. :)
