23 your just a young wipersnaper!

I think most places in education class you as a Mature Student when your over 21 and most colleges will let you do a course with no qualifications if you are a mature student, which can then lead into a uni degree if thats what you wanted.

You're never to old to learn somthing new, im going back to college at 28! and might do the uni thing again but not decided yet. When I was at college many moons ago there was lots of folk in there late 20's early 30's

I'm in the process of a career change at the moment (I'm 25). I work in IT earning a decent wage, but have no motivation to work with computers any longer than I have to.

At first I thought it was just a job change I needed rather than a career change so went on the usual interviews and got offered some highly paid jobs that sounded like the most boring jobs in the world. That's when I threw my IT CV out the window and did a 180 turn. I'm now halfway through a TEFL qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and currently in touch with a school out in China (Shanghai) to start a contract in September.

It's made working in my current job much more bearable as I have a clear goal just a few months away.

At your age you should be able to walk into uni as a mature student in most cases. I think some places may only take you if you're 25+. There is only one way to find out...

Go for it 23 still young (same as me), I know how you feel, I keep thinking perhaps I should just knuckle down in my current job and see where it goes (dead end as far as I can see). But Go for it, keep applying for stuff look around for what jobs are on offer and what training is available.

Maybe something completely different, like (can't remember his name) crane operator or

Home information pack
surveyor
360 operator
or get some It courses under your belt experience is the best but certificates help prrof to them why they are paying you.

I know it's meant for younger people, but it's good for researching different jobs.

You can still get into uni no problem, you'll just have to do an extra "Foundation Year" which is just to get you back up to speed.

thanks guys feel much better now.

Always liked dogs so looking into something like dog handling/training which would be cool. Doubt its something you can get into easy but I have direction now.

Also the mature student thing is good too. Knowing that im not quite old enough to be one is great :)

Starting on Monday, cant wait, no more working a warehouse for 8 hours, out on the road, going to peoples homes fitting flooring.
