Career Move - anyone done it?

Soldier--->Company Director--->Linguist.

You can do virtually anything if you have the basic skills and determination. You have one life so make the most of it.

I started as a cleaner, now a manager of a team of 26.

Going to be changing slightly to be working with schools next year hopeful which is a total change.

Took a pay hit but I'll enjoy the new challenge.

I jacked in work at 23 went to uni to study business. I thought at the that time it would open lots of doors, it didn't. I landed in Financial Services, which I have a head for and the earning potential is high. I don't really need my Degree I am glad I have one but it was an unnecessary 3 years with no earnings.

I would say if you do decide to go for it, be specific about what you want to do, maybe pick something you enjoyed as a child but never pursued (or your parents were to stingy to pay for you to do). Find out what it takes to get hired doing that and then look into the courses or training you need to do it.

I left a job in marketing working for a bank but I found it stressful, didn't suit my personality at all. I feel a bit suck because if I leave my current job then it shows that I'm not committed (2 jobs in the row less than 6 months). Is there any way around this?
