To replace a wooden back door completely including frame/lock/paint etc. How much would it cost? Bear in mind it is a back door so would need to be solid wood with glass pane for light.

Hardwood/Softwood door?

Half glazed or just a small window in the centre of door.

Door frame for 33" door with cill & weather strip, last one cost me £69, 5 lever euro lock another £20 or more depending on brand & quality, & a softwood 2XG door cost me about £90, your still to add door furniture, hinges, finish to door, & carpenter's fitting costs.

Better to look at GRP Composite External Door, or UPVC door, as they come finish in a pre-hung with either a PVC-U or hardwood outer-frame. & with 3 or 5 point locking, never need painting, usually come with a 10 Year Guarantee.

A chippie should be able to get hold of a decent door for about £100. Then it's probably around £120 to fit and paint it. So you're looking at a couple of hundred quid.

There's doors and doors and frames and frames.

The last door I bought was hardwood with 9 glazed sections and cost £500 just for the door alone plus frame and fittings. Like for like.

Does that not depend on a lot of things including type of door, material, size, work needed to fit door etc?

Someone I know had a front door fitted for about £300 all in yet the back door is about £500 as it has a section to the side which incorporates a window and lower panel all incorporated into the door frame.
