If you need to get cat hairs out of carpet that a Vac won't touch then try a hacksaw blade - just hold each end and bow blade slightly and pull towards you - it's hard work but you will be surprised at what the vac leaves behind - I cut a slot in a piece of hardwood and pushed blade into the slot - makes it easier to draw towards you.
We get the fur ball stuff and to be honest it's wrecked the carpets - Mrs DXP tries the foam stuff and damp cloth but it's not as good as carpet cleaner - Only problem I have with a cleaner is moving all the furniture and how long it takes carpet to dry.

I have a Numatic George. It's a Numatic so it'll last forever, and parts are ultra cheap if things do break. Plus it comes with all the attachments to convert it into a normal everyday dry vacuum which is a bonus so you can use it to vacuum your house or pickup building rubble/dust.
Plus he has a smiley face like the Henry. /thread
