Carpet washers

Always got very good reviews re: the Rug Doctor machine, which you can hire from Homebase for about £20 (if memory serves) cleaning stuff is about a tenner at the same time.

Quite a bulky beast, but it seems to be as good as most pro cleaners, unike the smaller domestic ones you buy for £50-100.

I've got one thats a few years old, made by hoover.
You dont realise how handy they are till you have one.

Any spills on the carpet, or furniture, its just a matter of plugging it in and 30 seconds later its gone.
If you dont have one, its 2 lots of kitchen roll, lots of panic and a big stain.

We bought the Vax All Terrain Carpet Washer a few weeks back because our carpets need a good clean, and we decided it was probably the best bet (we've got a nearly completely carpetted house, as does my sister).

It's pretty expensive if you're only going to use it once or twice, but with it's 6 year gaurantee we worked out it should pay for itself (it also has the attatchments to do upholstery).

Seconded. Very good, way better than anything that you can buy for home unless you are seriously loaded.
