Hi, any of you know of a case that'll take a PA120-3 inside the top panel. I currently have a Lian-Li A10 but ther's not enough room between the top and the motherboard to fit the rad internally. Must be aluminium and I'm not bothered about cost, anything up to £200 will do.
Thanks...
Chris

I'm just about to fit a 120.3 in the roof of my Lian Li A70B.

You can either buy a pre cut 120.2 panel from Lian Li or cut the present case roof which is easily removable (4 screws).

Overall there's acres of room and it's pretty much the quietest Lian Li (bar the S80) i've ever 'not' heard! ;)

My review with pics here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17787437&highlight=a70b

If you read through you will see Simonnance mention that (with a little modification) there's space for a 120.2 in front of the lower hdd bay too.

And another owned by HighlandeR here: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=17799173

Another vote for the TJ07 just superb, don't buy any other case until you have seen one of these in front of you, the quality is just unreal, the outer edges of the case are 5mm solid aluminium the thinest on the case are the side panels at 2mm this is double that of a Lian Li that I had.

does it have to be the top? theres plenty of room in the bottom of a lian li v2000, may have to get creative with the hdd's, but you should be able to leave one of the hdd racks in.

Hi, thanks guys; I've looked at both of those recommendations, I like the look of the TJ07 but I do not wish to have the rad at the bottom of the case as I need space for 3-4 hard drives, so the same goes for the Lian-Li V2000. The A70b looks interesting but I think the A71 looks more like my old A10. More reserch to be done I think, especially into modded roof panel...

I added a hard drive caddy to my TJ07 which keeps the drives nice and cool. I seriously recommend it mate

Hi, thanks, lovely case, at a price, however see my answer above.
Now all I need to find is a uk stockist for the A71..

I got a PA120.3 rad in the bottom of my TJ07 (no cutting needed)

And i moved my harddrives into a cabbie (four 3.5" drives in three 5.25” bays)..

Hi, thanks for that chaparral, I'm not so sure about fitting in the base, however I'm sure it works fine in practice. I've now found a stockist of a A71A in the UK and presently inquiring whether they'm dril three 120mm holes in the roff gfor me...

I can't understand why you're making more work for yourself, when other people are telling you a simply way to achieve what you want.

My PA120.3 is stuck to the bottom of the case with double sided tape and doesn't move at all.

Hi, what's more work? I'm sorry but I do not wish my rad to be at the bottom of my case, what's wrong in that? I thank you for you for your advice but at the end of the day it is up to me what I choose to do with it. I can't see how, with the side panel on, it is good for a rad to have no-where for air circulation, besides, with sticky tape? As I said, it may work for you but I prefer it a different way, thank you.
Besides, I now have a Lian-Li A71A, with three blow holes in the top, on order for a whisker over £200 delivered. I also prefer the Lian-Li over the Silverstone, we live in a word of choices still, don't we?

My case has a mesh at the bottom of each side panel for air flow.

I'm not telling you how to do it, just advising after lots of experience and failed attempts to create a decent PC.

There mesh at the bottom of each side panel on a TJ07 case,so the air for the rad comes in through the mesh on one side panel and out through the mesh on the other side panel.....(My PA120.3 rad is screwed to the bottom of my case)

Plus having the rad at the bottom is much better for lower temps...(with a rad fitted to the top of a PC case means it's going to get all the hot air from the pc components going through it..)

Hi, ok no offense was intented, I did, though, say I wanted to mount my rad at the top of my PC in my first post. I did consider the Silverstone very seriously before I posted up my request, however I took it off my list because there didn't seem to be enough room to place a rad 'up top'.
I am impressed with the quality both you and chaparral have produced and it sets a standard I would hope to achieve...

I think whatever Rad you want to mount at the top will need to be thin. I bought two thermochill's for mine, realising after that the 120.2 was just too darn thick and wouldn't fit. So I ordered a Black ICE GT Stealth 240 XFlow which fitted nicely at the top of the TJ07.

End of the day there is no right or wrong way to build these PC's. I spent weeks and weeks researching before ordering components and then still managed to make some mistakes. So fair play to you mate and let us know how you get on.

Hi, thanks I will post up my build when I get the case next week. As far as the rad mounting is concerned, this case has a hard drive cage with a 120mm fan on it mounted where the PSU usually is, there is also a mount at the bottom of the case for another PSU as well as more hardrive cages. I'm hoping that removing the top hard drive cage will give me enough space to install the 120-3 into..

I use the Lian-Li PC-70 Original old school version :) fits my PA120.3 with loads of room spare.

If I were in the market for another case I think the below would be in my list:

Lian-Li PC-V2000+: rad mounted at the bottom to pull cold air up into the case, (some modding required)

Lian-Li PC-G70: basically the same as the PC-70 internals slightly different and cosmetic changes. (some modding required)

Lian-Li PC-343b: Its HUGE! the possibilities oh.. the possibilities (minimal modding required)

Silverstone TJ07: amazing looks but the price is still way to expensive for its class. (very minimal modding required)

For the money my vote goes to Lian-Li.

For the looks and ease of modding, the Silverstone is king.

Hi, just measured my PA120-3 with the shroud and fans and it is about 120mm, it'll fit just fine I'm sure...
